Why study Psychology?
Psychology provides an insight into the human mind and behaviour.  The course encourages you to be inspired, moved and changed by following a broad, satisfying and worthwhile course of study and to gain an insight into related sectors, such as science.

You will also be encouraged to develop a personal interest in and enthusiasm for psychology.  You will be prepared to make informed decisions about further learning opportunities and career choices.

Who should study it?  
Students who enjoy scientific research and are good at writing reports and essays.

Where will it take you?
This GCSE course prepares you to embark on the AS and A2 levels at further education college which follow a similar structure.

There are many careers in which psychology is relevant, from childcare and teaching, to business and management.

What will be studied?
Firstly, you will learn how psychologists conduct research, then have the opportunity to carry out your own research.  The course is separated into the following topics:
