Health & Social Care

 

This course will be particular interest to students who are considering following a career in the Health and Social Care sector. Students will be required to work independently and carry out investigations in vocational contexts. You will need to demonstrate good interpersonal skills as you will work closely with both clients and care workers, in care workplaces in the local area. You will need to have ICT skills as this will play a large part in presenting your portfolios. Students will investigate different types of care services, the people who work in them and how they support their clients as well as looking at Health and Safety in the workplace. You will also investigate the health an well-being of one client and produce a health improvement plan. Further study will involve looking at how people develop physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially as they go through life.
