Restart is the schools Learning Support Unit (LSU) and provides targeted intervention for learners to support inclusion at Werneth. Students are referred by pastoral managers and SLT at inclusion panel. Students then access the centre to build healthy self esteem, improve attendance and re-engage with learning and positive behaviour in a nurturing and supportive environment.
Opportunities are provided for students to access group work employing S.E.A.L teaching and learning to support improved behaviour and removing barriers to learning. Some students access the L.S.U on a part time basis whilst others engage in a comprehensive 4-6 week programme resulting in full re-integration into mainstream. All students are tracked and monitored by restart staff each day and also during reintegration. Many students access Restart for support during transfer processes from other schools.
