Maths at Werneth School is an exciting and interesting subject which is related to life around us. Imagine how many times a day the average person uses Maths in their daily life!  In our classrooms students experience problem solving, puzzles and challenges.  Students will be involved in group work activities, projects and investigations.

All students receive 6 one hour Maths' lessons over the two week timetable.  At Key Stage 3 students experience a wide range of mathematical topics including Functional Maths.   At Key Stage 4, which begins mid-way through Year 9, students follow either the Linear or Modular Maths syllabus; depending on their individual needs.  We aim to ensure all students have achieved a GCSE grade by the November of Year 11.

We also organise activities during Can Do days and weeks which enhance the learning experience of our students.  The Maths Department also offer many after school and weekend revision sessions in the lead up to GCSE examinations.

We are a friendly and helpful department, always willing to give our time to help students succeed.
