Music is one of the specialist areas of Werneth School. It has been a consistently high performing department for many years now. It is acknowledged as being one of the most successful departments and it is also one of the most active.
All students at KS3 follow a programme of work that allows them to develop their performing, creative and listening skills. Students are encouraged to work individually, with partners, as part of small groups and as a whole class. Achievement and reward are a high priority for the department.
Examination results for the Music department are consistently outstanding, outperforming national averages both at KS3 & KS4. Students are encouraged once again to develop both as individuals and as part of their groups. Lessons are well structured and dynamic.
Digital technology is a fundamental part of the department with a modern suite of Apple Mac computers and a digital recording studio. These facilities are used across the curriculum to enable students to become familiar with industry standard equipment and practices.
