PSE is a Core Subject and students will have lessons from Year 7 to Year 11. It covers a variety of topics including Citizenship, Careers Education, Economic Awareness, Health and Drugs Education , Relationships and Sex Education, Community Cohesion and Safety.


It is an exciting and popular subject. Students enjoy the subject, and find it relevant and interesting. It was praised by the last Ofsted inspection, and indeed some aspects of its work on areas such as Community Cohesion and Active Citizenship have gained Local Awards and National recognition. Lessons may involve project work, role play, discussion and debates, group work, ICT as well as outside agencies and speakers. We aim to improve pupil knowledge, skills of enquiry, self-confidence and encourage involvement in school and the local community.
